The book offered to readers is a collection of articles by young scientists and teachers of the Institute of Philology of PetrSU. A significant part of the published articles demonstrates the first results of scientific activity of beginning researchers. The collection adequately reflects the scientific interests of the philological departments of the university: the history of the Russian language, comparative historical studies, the poetics of the artistic text, the study of the work of Russian writers of the XIX century.
The book can be recommended philologists, as well as all interested in modern research in the humanities.

Gintsburg N. S. – the translator of Horace
Petrozavodsk state university, Masha_co_istoc@list.ruAnnotation: Gintsburg N. S. is one of the best and highly authoritative translators, who put Horatius’ poems into Russian language. However, we have next to none information on Gintsburg’s life, even the year of his death is unknown. Biography of Horatius, who flourished two thousand years before him, is known much better. This article collects all the known facts about the translator’s life and oeuvre, which are updated with new information on Gintsburg’s work and residence places in Saint-Petersburg – Petrograd - Leningrad. Another serious challenge, related to the translator’s engagement, is textual study of his translations since most of them are published after his death and differ significantly in various publications. This article adduces statistic data on amount of these contradictions and issues the challenge of system textual study of published Horatius’ poems translations by Gintsburg N. S. The image of Phaedra in M. Tsvetaeva's poetry
Petrozavodsk State University, redkiyvid1991@mail.ruAnnotation: The image of Phaedra in the world literature has a rich history, rooted in ancient Greek mythology. The article is devoted to the study of the evolution of Fedra's image in Tsvetaeva's poetry, the connection between the image of Phaedra and the images of other ancient and Christian heroines, and also the tracing of Tsvetaeva's polemics with Euripides, Ovidius, Seneca, Racine - authors who immortalized the name of Fedra, but created a certain "reputation" for this image. M. Tsvetaeva, in the course of working with this "reputation" of Fedra, completely reinterprets the image that has become archetypal, makes him more feminine, passionate, but at the same time, strong-willed. At the same time, the image of Hippolytus, the beloved Phaedra, is given to Tsvetaeva without any interesting changes for us. This image covers many of Tsvetaeva's works of various genres: poetic drama, poem, poetic cycles, lyrical poems, which speaks of a deep interest in Phaedrus, of trying to understand her as deeply as possible. The image of the city of Rome in the lyrical cycle "Roman elegies" I. A. Brodsky
PetrSU, fuchsohneschnurrbart@gmail.comAnnotation: There are two special cities in the literary heritage of Joseph Aleksandrovich Brodsky: his native St. Petersburg and Rome. The purpose of this research work is to identify the relationship of the Russian poet to the Italian city and analyse the poetics of the lyrical cycle as an imprescriptible part in the formation of the city's image system. The connection between Brodsky and Rome is considered in comparison with the biography and work of the ancient Roman poet Publius Ovid Nason. By way of a subject of research work was used Brodsky's lyric cycle "Roman Elegies". There are analyses of the each poem of the cycle in the article, the main motives and keywords. In the conclusion is drawn on how the image of the city is formed, as well as the conclusion about the poet's personal relationship to Rome. Key words: Brodsky, Ovid, lyric cycle, city, Rome, motive.
